Sonic Drive-In is an American fast-food chain founded in 1953 in Shawnee, Oklahoma, originally as the Top Hat Drive-In.  Known for its drive-in format with carhops on roller skates, Sonic has grown to over 3,400 locations across the United States, making it the largest drive-in fast-food chain in the country.  The company is now owned by Inspire Brands, the parent company of Arby's, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Baskin-Robbins.
