Meet Austin: a bright, energetic 7-year-old whose smile lights up every room. Austin loves ball, cars, swimming, equine therapy and watching big brother play football. But what makes Austin truly extraordinary is his courage in the face of a rare genetic disorder—one that affects the KDM5C gene.
Austin’s diagnosis has brought challenges, from learning hurdles to developmental delays, but it has also revealed his incredible strength and the unwavering support of his family and friends. Despite the obstacles, Austin approaches every day with determination and a sense of wonder that inspires everyone around him.
This year, we are proud to form “Austin's Army” for our local 5K. We run not just for Austin, but for every child and family impacted by rare genetic disorders. Our goal is to raise awareness, support critical research, and show the world the power of community.
As we train together, we are reminded of Austin’s resilience. Every step we take is for him—for the therapies, the research, and the hope that one day, no child will have to face these challenges alone.
Join us on this journey. Whether you run, walk, paddle, or cheer from the sidelines, your support brings us closer to a future where kids like Austin can reach their fullest potential.
Because when we work together, we are unstoppable!
