According to the latest KFF Health Tracking Poll* , nearly 1 in 4 adults taking prescription drugs (24%)—including 23% of seniors—report difficulty affording their prescriptions. Even more troubling, a 2023 analysis by Prescription Justice** found that 30% of Americans did not fill a prescription as
directed because of cost.
The Medication Bridge Program was created to address this urgent need. For many patients served through University Medical Center New Orleans, this program is their last hope. Funded entirely by donations, it offers direct financial assistance for:
• Prescription medications
• Durable medical supplies
• Respiratory and treatment-related equipment
• Transportation to and from appointments
We serve those who are uninsured, underinsured, or awaiting Medicaid approval—individuals for whom cost is a true barrier to care.
