Key program objectives
Aim 1: Catchment area
Describe and monitor the catchment area (CA) in terms of population characteristics and cancer burden.

Aim 2: Engage communities
Engage the catchment area communities in outreach and engagement activities.

Aim 3: Foster research
Foster research inside and outside of catchment area.

Aim 4: Develop policy
Develop policy that has impact locally, nationally and ultimately, internationally.

Priority areas
The OSUCCC – James, with input from the Community Advisory Board and other partners, prioritizes lung, breast, colorectal, prostate, liver, endometrial, cervical and thyroid cancers, as well as leukemia. Research and outreach efforts aim to address these cancers and their risk factors.

Measuring outcomes
We assess our efforts using a logic model with activities and outputs. Success metrics include expanded reach, new collaborations, and increased screening services and clinical trial accrual. We have improved patient navigation, clinical trial participation and cancer research.

Future considerations
In the next five years, we aim to:

Expand patient navigation.
Increase mobile screening.
Provide support for research on emerging topics in our areas.
