Your donation will help fund our Entry Fee Assistance Program. We created this program in 2008 during the housing / financial crisis for other races we staged at that time. Last year, we re-established it to enable athletes impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton to participate in our races for free.
You may remember our area was hammered by two back-to-back hurricanes with massive amounts of destruction. Our hearts ache for our friends and neighbors directly impacted. However, we've also seen our local community come together to support those affected, with various entities doing what they can.
We know signing up for a road race next February is NOT a priority, but in our modest effort to help those runners in need, we offer 50 comp entries into our St. Petersburg Distance Classic based on need. We believe our athletes should not be forced to abandon their training goals due to unexpected financial hardships caused by the hurricanes. Your donation will help fund this effort.
Donations received will also be provided to several small, local, and loyal non-profit organizations who volunteer at our races, such as Girl Scout Troops, Youth Sports Organizations, etc., for help with registration, aid stations, and finish line operations.
