Our dogs are not service dogs or therapy dogs, they are shelter dogs that are like our Vets in so many ways. They are stigmatized and misunderstood. Not so good things have happened to them yet you could not have a greater friend!!
To quote one of the veterans in our program; “I like working with these dogs because they were a throw away just like me”
Dogs Tags of New York matches up shelter dogs with veterans so that both can find comfort in each other to help heal the wounds of their past trauma.
