Youth Triathlon

This event is fully contained on Lakedale property, so no regular road traffic to be concerned with. The swim is approximately 50 yards and heavily guarded. The bike is approximately 1 mile on lakedale gravel roads through the campsite. The run is approximately 1/2 mile again through Lakedale campground. Kids finish at the same finish line as the adults. Race starts when last adult swimmer is out of the water, approximately 9:30 a.m. We request 13 years and under and able to swim.

Half Marathon

This all-sport day is sure to please. Nestled in the heart of San Juan Island, Lakedales family friendly atmosphere is the perfect location to start and finish a run! Make it a weekend and take a day to see San Juan Island!

The Half Marathon, like everywhere on the island, has hills. The most famous being the Yacht Haven Road out and back. The good news is you get to fly down hill for about 1/2 mile. The even better news is you get to come back up! From there it's simply rolling hills through a national park and other scenic inner-island views!

Marathon


This all-sport day is sure to please. Nestled in the heart of San Juan Island, Lakedale Resort's family friendly atmosphere is the perfect location to finish a run! Make a weekend of it and see the rest of beautiful San Juan Island.

We're not going to lie. This is a difficult marathon. Us Race Directors use words like scenic to distract you from the degree of difficulty. But this course really is scenic and one of the only courses you can see the straight, Olympics, wildlife, farmland and if you're lucky, our famous Orca whales! See, you stopped thinking about hills already!

We do request that you approach this event as a run and not a walk. We will have a 5 hour, 30 minute cutoff for this years race. Last year's average finish time was 4 hours, 24 minutes.

We are fortunate to have the run include a beautiful inner-island area of the Three Meadows Neighborhood! It's about 2 miles of unpaved road through amazing forested and wetland areas. This course has hills, but they're manageable.

We have teamed up with The Rec for our 9th year of our Triathlon Training Clinic! This includes weekly written and published training plans, group swims at The Rec on Saturday mornings. Also includes group runs, rides and open water swims on the course at Lakedale. Easy access to the coach. The fee includes race entry!
