Event Overview
Get ready to light up the night! Our 8:00 PM Glow the Distance 5K is packed with color, lights, and energy. Wear your best glow-in-the-dark or neon gear, and stop by our glow table to grab fun glow items for sale. This year’s course takes you straight down Main Street and through Downtown Morristown for an unforgettable nighttime run. The route is well-marked, family-friendly, and fully chip-timed by We Run Events.
All proceeds from this event support the Ministerial Association Temporary Shelter (MATS). We serve homeless men, women, and children in Hamblen County and eleven surrounding counties, helping individuals overcome the root causes of homelessness through job readiness training, budgeting skills, home management education, sustainable employment, and long-term housing.
We also operate a free Warming Station during the winter months. All of our services are offered at no cost, and we rely on generous community support to cover essential expenses.

Race Participation & Protocal
Race Protocal
- All participants must be registered and wear their official race bib at all times during the event.
- Runners must follow the designated course route. Shortcuts or off-course running may result in disqualification.
- The race is open to runners, walkers, and wheelchair athletes. No bicycles, skateboards, or rollerblades permitted.
- Baby strollers are permitted in the back of the starting pack of runners. Please be courteous and aware of other runners/walkers
- Well-behaved, socialized, and leashed dogs are permitted.
- Headphones are permitted, but please be alert of traffic patterns and course direction at all times - especially at major intersections!
Timing & Results
- The race will be timed by We Run Events.
- The race will use B-tags attached to the back of your bib number. Ensure your bib and tag is securely attached to the outside of your clothing.
- Results will be available post-race at We Run Events kiosks or by scanning the appropriate RESULTS QR CODE onsite.
