📝 Desert Juggernauts Waiver & Release of Liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Desert Juggernauts Triathlon and any affiliated training programs or athletic events, I, the participant, intending to be legally bound, hereby acknowledge, agree, and certify as follows:

1. Waiver of Liability
I waive and forever release all rights and claims for damages, liability, or injuries I may incur against the Event Director, Desert Juggernauts, RunSignup.com, all sponsors, volunteers, partners, employees, and agents assisting with this event. This release includes, but is not limited to, any and all injuries to myself or damage to personal property occurring before, during, or after the event.

I understand that participation in a triathlon (including swimming, cycling, and running) is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. I accept all risks, including but not limited to:

Falls or contact with other participants
The effects of weather, including heat and humidity
Traffic, terrain, water conditions, and course layout
I certify that I am physically fit and sufficiently trained to complete this event and have been medically cleared to do so. I agree to comply with the directions of event officials regarding my participation.

2. Medical Consent
In the event of injury, illness, or medical emergency, I hereby authorize event officials or medical personnel to provide or secure medical treatment on my behalf. I accept full responsibility for any medical costs incurred, including transport, treatment, hospitalization, or medication.

3. Assumption of COVID-19 Risk
I agree to follow all federal, state, and local COVID-19 guidelines, including those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) (https://www.cdc.gov). I understand there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 and voluntarily assume all such risks.

4. Media Release
I grant permission to Desert Juggernauts and its partners to use my name, voice, and images (including photographs and video) in any promotional materials, publications, websites, social media, or event coverage, without compensation.

5. Refund Policy
All entry fees are non-refundable under any circumstances, including but not limited to event cancellation, postponement, or changes due to weather, natural disasters, emergencies, or public health orders. Bib numbers are non-transferable.

6. Program & Financial Support Disclosure
Funds raised through this event may be used to:

Provide cash prize money for top finishers (amounts to be announced)
Sponsor participants in the 12-week training program (covering gear and race entry)
Support year-round athletic programs and student-athletes in need
Cover annual physicals for youth, provided by Desert Juggernauts
I understand and agree that my participation helps support these charitable initiatives.

7. Parental Consent (if under 18)
If the participant is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must acknowledge and accept this waiver on their behalf.

 
By submitting this registration, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms of this Waiver & Release. I understand this is a legally binding agreement and that I am waiving certain rights by participating.
