ARWS PARTICIPANT WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNITY TEMPLATE

1. Acknowledgment of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in an adventure race is inherently dangerous and involves
risks, including but not limited to:
● serious injury or death;
● drowning, hypothermia, heat illness;
● navigation errors and getting lost;
● accidents during trekking, mountain biking, paddling, climbing or rope
activities;
● fatigue, sleep deprivation, and physical/mental stress;
● wildlife encounters, environmental hazards and extreme weather;
● remote locations with delayed or unavailable medical assistance;
● equipment failure;
● acts or omissions of other participants, staff, volunteers, or third parties.
I understand that these risks cannot be eliminated without fundamentally changing the
nature of the event.

2. Assumption of Risk
I, voluntarily and fully, accept and assume all risks, known and unknown, associated with
participation in the event.
3. Nature of ARWS
I acknowledge and agree that:
● Adventure Racing World Series, LLC (ARWS) is not a governing body or
federation of the sport of adventure racing;
● ARWS is a private entity providing a global marketing platform and a global
event series united under 1 brand umbrella.
● ARWS does not own, organize, control, or operate this event;
● This event is independently owned and operated by the Event Organizer
named above.
Accordingly, ARWS bears no responsibility or liability for the conduct, safety, or
operation of the event.

4. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold
harmless:
● the Event Organizer;
● its owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers,
sponsors, and agents;
● landowners, authorities, and any parties associated with the event;
● Adventure Racing World Series, LLC (ARWS), its Directors, employees,
contractors, agents and representatives;
from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to:
● personal injury or death;
● property damage or loss;
● financial loss;
whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

5. Indemnity
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless all the above parties from any claims, damages,
costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from my participation in the event.

6. Personal Responsibility and Self-Reliance
I acknowledge that:
● I am responsible for my own safety and actions at all times;
● I must use my own judgment, navigation skills, and common sense;
● I may withdraw from the event if I believe conditions are unsafe;
I further acknowledge that:
● I am responsible for providing first aid to myself and teammates where
necessary;
● rescue or medical assistance may be delayed or unavailable.

7. Rules, Referees and Decisions
I acknowledge that:
● the event may use rules and equipment lists aligned with ARWS guidelines;
● referees act in a support and advisory capacity to the Event Organizer;
● decisions are made in real time under challenging conditions.
I agree that:
● all decisions by the Event Organizer are final and binding;
● I have no right of appeal to ARWS;
I release ARWS from any claims relating to race decisions, rankings, penalties, or prize
money.

8. Medical Treatment and Rescue
I consent to receive emergency medical treatment if required.
I understand that:
● medical and rescue services are the responsibility of the Event Organizer;
● such services may be limited or delayed;
ARWS has no responsibility for medical or rescue services.

9. Fitness to Participate
I confirm that:
● I am physically and mentally fit to participate in the event;
● I have adequate training, skills, and equipment for the event.

10. Equipment, Terrain and Facilities
I accept all risks associated with:
● uneven, slippery, mountainous, or hazardous terrain;
● roads, rivers, lakes,natural environments and weather conditions;
● use of equipment and facilities.
Participation is entirely at my own risk.

11. Personal Property

I accept full responsibility for any loss, theft, or damage to my personal belongings,
equipment, or vehicles.

12. Insurance
I understand that I am responsible for my own insurance, including personal injury,
medical, travel, and evacuation coverage.

13. Media Release
I grant permission for the Event Organizer and ARWS to use photographs, video, and
media content featuring me for promotional purposes without compensation.

14. Minors
If signing on behalf of a minor:
● I confirm I am the parent or legal guardian;
● I accept full responsibility for the minor’s participation.

15. Duration and Scope
This waiver:
● is binding and irrevocable;
● applies to all event-related activities;
● extends to my heirs, estate, and dependents.

16. Severability
If any provision of this waiver is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining
provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
