Description

The 2nd annual Dirty Dawg Race to Rescue 5k Obstacle Course Race is set for Saturday September 28, 2019 at LaMancha Animal Rescue in Unionville, Pennsylvania. Be ready to run, jump, climb or crawl around 3+ miles of rolling countryside with wooded trails and along beautiful pastures. As you tackle your challenges during the Dirty Dawg Race to Rescue, your much-needed donations will be used to help support our lifesaving animal rescue work, care and adoption programs that benefit dogs, cats, horses and farm animals of all types.
Last year, with the help of 120+ racers, the Dirty Dawg raised over $5,000 in donations for LaMancha.  This year will be even better! If you’re looking to unleash your inner dawg and go to places you never imagined, the Dirty Dawg Race to Rescue is perfect for you! We are not only stuffing the Dirty Dawg 5K with more than 12+ obstacles between you and the finish line, but also combining the race with local microbreweries for tastings after your hard work out!  At the finish line, race participants (over age 21) will receive a memorable, logo 4 oz. glass for “free” beer tastings! Post-race festivities also include awesome food, live music, local vendors, and lovable, adoptable dogs and cats who await you! Not ready for an obstacle course run? Spectators can still join in on the festivities and beer tasting for a small donation; which will go directly to the rescue. There’s no better feeling than helping those who can’t help themselves!

What’s at LaMancha?

Since 2005, we have been a qualified public charity under IRS section 501(C)3,. originally formed as an alternative to the slaughterhouse for ex racehorses. Many of these horses are perfectly sound, but simply too slow to continue racing. Some are injured, but can be healed to make suitable trail riding mounts, show horses, and three-day eventers. Today LaMancha rescues and finds homes for not only horses but also dogs, cats, pigs, goats and the occasional exotic animal that requires more space or specialized knowledge than most SPCA’s can offer.

Specific goals of fundraising;

The average cost to save one life:

Shelter pull fee: $50

Spay / Neuter: $150 - $250

Medication / Vaccination $100

Food per month: $30 per month

Transport costs: Varies
