In May of 2019 I had the privilege of becoming a part of the nursing team at Nemours' Oncology and Hematology unit. I have truly loved working here and whole-heartedly know this is where I am meant to be! Our unit is made up of the most knowledgeable, hardworking, caring team members who have a passion for what they do. I love seeing first hand how families, communities, churches & friends rally together and support these little heroes as they fight cancer! Our kiddos are fighting huge battles with the biggest smiles on their faces - it's incredibly inspiring! Getting to be a small part of their story is seriously such an honor.
I am SO excited to be participating in the Delmarva Dash! Especially after having to wait a whole extra year to participate, thanks COVID! As many of you know running has become a passion of mine since college, and running for a cause that is this close to my heart truly is so special! The Delmarva Dash is a two-day, two-hundred mile relay, starting from our hospital in Wilmington Delaware and ending in Bethany Beach. I will be running this relay with a group of doctors, nurses, therapist, nutritionists and more from my unit!
All donations go towards Nemours' "The Promise Fund", supporting the research at Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, that I am lucky enough to see in practice! The care our hospital provides these kids and the families that have just received unimaginable news about their child, really is hard to put into words. We are nationally recognized for the medical, research based, child and family-center care we provide, but there's something special about the other side of the care we provide here. The connections our team makes with these kids, the love they pour into the care they provide, the little extras we do to make it just a little better for these kids, that's the care I think is just magic!
I have a goal of raising 1,000$!! With the extra fundraising time with our new race day of May 2021, I'm sure this can happen! Every donation counts! Thank you for your support, it means so much to me!
