The Tunnel To Towers Foundation was born from the tragedy of 9/11, embodying a legacy of courage and heroism. It operates under the inspiring mantra, "While we have time, LET US DO GOOD," supporting our nation's fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and their families. These brave men and women are there for us during our darkest hours, responding without hesitation. Today, we have the chance to stand by them through their times of need, even if we may not know them personally. Our contributions acknowledge the debt we owe these heroes for their unwavering presence in our lives.
Still recovering from a life-changing setback - my detour, and having received help along the way, I found something where I could pay it forward. My story of how I found Tunnel To Towers 5K begins with one of my greatest joys: bicycling Minnesota's scenic country roads and capturing the landscape's beauty as I traveled. I would cover anywhere from 30 to 100 miles on a typical day. However, a concussion and neck injury abruptly ended my cycling journey, leaving me devastated. But I didn't give up. Forced to find an alternative, I transitioned from biking to walking and jogging with my dog through familiar neighborhood scenes. Seeking new horizons, I explored various 5K events, leading me to an incredible opportunity that transformed a personal setback into a positive endeavor—supporting the Tunnel To Towers Foundation.
Let's make the best of this detour and turn lemons into lemonade together by supporting these remarkable individuals through this online "lemonade stand." Your contribution, whether it's a secure donation through my page or joining Team Detour to participate in walking, running, or jogging events, makes a difference. Every step we take, and every dollar we donate helps support these heroes and their families in meaningful ways.
Please share this page with anyone who might be inspired to help us support our nation's protectors. Together, we can extend a hand to those who have bravely been there for us.
Thank you for your generosity!
