General Race Information

Q. When is the race?
   A. The race will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2020. The start time will be at 8:30 am. The obstacle course will start at 8:45 am.                   

Q. Where is the start and finish line to the race?
   A. The race will be starting and ending at beautiful Kollen Park on Lake Macatawa.

Start Line: Runners will line up on Kollen Park Dr. next to Boatwerks at 10th Street.
Finish Line: Runners will finish at Kollen Park Dr. next to Boatwerks at 10th Street.

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?

   A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible. 

Q. What is included in the registration fee?
   A. You will get a Race number, a tech t-shirt, a bib and timing chip, and a great feeling to be helping a great cause!

Q. How long is the Race?
   A. The race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. You may choose to walk or run the route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.                     

Q. Are pets and strollers allowed at the event?
   A. Pets are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.

Q. What if it rains?
   A. The Run With the Cops race holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the race at  its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Q. How do I check my results?
   A. The Run With the Cops race is an officially timed event using a disposable chip timing system. Official results will be available at race kiosks located onsite at Kollen Park. Your individual time will be emailed to you once you cross the finish line. Results can also be accessed online from our friends at IgniteYourEvent at www.igniteyourevent.com/results. You may also download the IgniteYourEvent app to see race results.

Q. What about packet pick up?

Come to the packet pickup to get your race-day bib, timing chip and event tee shirt. If you can't make it to the packet pickup day, don't fret; you're welcome to send a friend or family member to pick up your race day necessities - as long as they come armed with a copy of everyone's registration confirmation. Five packets per person max, please! 

Q. Can I defer my registration to next year? 

We do not allow deferrals, but you may transfer your registration to our Virtual Run through April 15, 2020.

Q. Is there a time limit?

Participants finishing after 10:30 am will not be included in the official results.

Q. Where can I park?

We highly encourage carpooling or biking to the event. There will be lots of participants, volunteers, and spectators on-site the morning of the race. Please plan for heavy traffic. There will be limited street parking available on neighboring streets on race morning as well as at the Civic Center and the Upper Kollen Park lot.
