Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo & ULTRA

The Cheaha Challenge Gran Fondo Century & ULTRA ride upholds the tradition of excellence established 32 years ago. The 1992 ride organizers' vision, to create a challenging route over the highest point in Alabama - Mount Cheaha - and then back again, continues to fulfill the event's tagline promise to be "the toughest ride in the South."

The rides start and finish on the sweeping campus of Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama, where both the University and City have proven to be gracious hosts for the events.  The 2025 Cheaha Challenge will be the ONLY USA Qualifier for the 2025 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships!

Coldwater Mountain Bike Festival 

Our annual celebration of mountain biking on Coldwater Mountain is a great chance to celebrate our love for the sport and ride on the amazing Coldwater Trail system. Alabama Cycling Classic

The Alabama Cycling Classic is a weekend event that combines the well-established Sunny King Criterium with the Choccolocco Road Race for two full days of professional and amateur road racing.  The City of Anniston proudly hosts this event annually for all levels of cyclists to come and race.  The Alabama Cycling Classic is held in conjunction with the Noble Street Festival.  

Alabama Ass Whoopin

This year, we are going down to Sylacauga to the Oldfield Green Gables to host the race and ride some amazing gravel.  With awesome climbs and great sections of gravel and some pavement, to make for a great all around gravel grinding experience!

Fully stocked aid stations and post race food and beverages. Feel free to bring your family. There is a disc golf course set up right down the road at Lake Howard, so bring a fishing pole.  Plan to camp at the Oldfield Green Gables for the weekend and the next day check out the great mountain biking of Sylaward trails at Lake Howard.  For more info about the OGG check them at  https://www.facebook.com/oldfieldgreengable/   

Treadhoofalon

A fun unique event that brings soles, treads, and hooves together! It’s a triathlon of sorts.

Horse Route-On this 4 mile route, most of the first half is climbing up hill so pace yourselves. The trails are rocky! Shoes or Boots are highly recommended! The routes are marked with arrow signs at intersections. Single track trails have yellow squares on the trees. 

Bike Route-This exciting 8-mile mounting bike route will start out on horse trails that are old school single track then transitions to the modern flowing McClellan bike trails and finishes on old-school single-track horse trails. At the end there is steep chunky downhill, use caution! Trails are marked with signs, follow the arrows! The single-track horse trails have yellow squares on the trees. There are 2 water stops on this route and you will hit one coming and going.

Running Route-This awesome 4-mile trail run route will be on mostly single-track horse trails with solid footing except for a short 100-yard chunky section. The intersections are marked with arrow signs and the single-track trails have yellow squares on the trees. There is one water stop on this route.

Coldwater Trail - Lifetime Trail Events 

The Life Time Coldwater Trail presented by Sunny King Auto, held in Anniston, AL takes place October 24-25, 2025! Less than 1.5 hours from either Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA, Anniston is rapidly becoming the hotbed for off-road riders and runners alike.

Purpose built and dedicated trails on Coldwater Mountain offer backcountry experiences for all ability levels. With rocky outcroppings, challenging climbs, thrilling descents, and stunning views…there’s something for everyone at Coldwater.
