Get Ready! Athlete Details

Check your athlete details by looking it up. If you have any changes, you can do so by logging into RunSignup or emailing us by Saturday. You can change your distance anytime up to 10 minutes before the distance starts.

☀️ Be Prepared

  • Sunday Forecast: Sunny, temps from 60 to 70 degrees. Check updates via National Weather Service or Weather Underground.
  • Trail Conditions: Course marked Saturday morning; condition updates posted Saturday afternoon on social.
  • Don't forget the time change: Remember to set your clocks back! Standard time begins on event day, giving everyone an extra hour.

 

🎟️ Packet Pickup

  • Early Pickup: Saturday, 12:30–3:30PM @ Arvada Tri
  • Race Morning: Opens at 8:00AM 🪪 No ID needed—just names!

Packet Pickup Cut-off Times (no exceptions)

  • 🏃 Half: 8:50AM
  • 🎽 10K: 9:20AM
  • 👟 5K: 9:30AM
  • ‼️ Late arrivals must downgrade or won’t be allowed on course with a bib.

 

📍 Venue & Parking

  • Location: Jefferson County NAAC stadium, 19500 W 64th Pkwy, Golden, CO, 🎯 Enter only at the west entrance (just off 64th at CO-93) 👉 Click for directions
  • Parking: There’s plenty of open parking on-site, follow all signs, do not move any cones, and do not park in the lot marked out for volunteers 🚪Heads up! Gates close at 1:00 PM right after the last athlete wraps up—so please don’t leave your car in the lot. Thanks for keeping things smooth!

 

🎉 Pre-Race Highlights

  • Venue & Expo Open: 8:00AM
  • Halloween Costume Contest: 🎭 Show off your Halloween spirit and join the official costume contest! Get your contest photo. snapped in front of the event banner at the awards tent before 9:30 AM to enter. Winners must attend their distance’s award ceremony to claim their prize. Check out the costume categories and rules here!
  • Gear Check: Free, next to packet pickup.
  • ToiletsIndoor facilities!! At the top of the hill (north of the venue) at the stadium entrance.
  • Expo Access: Open pre- and post-race—samples, wellness, and surprises await!
  • Find the Orange Bibs: They’re on living kidney donors or their proud supporters! Feel free to ask them about living kidney donation—it’s a powerful story worth hearing.

 

📛 Bib & Start Line Info

  • Bib Guidelines: Wear on outermost layer, horizontal, and visible.
  • Start Line Etiquette: 🏃‍♂️ We’re using corrals by pace to keep things flowing smoothly! If you start in the wrong corral, you could find yourself dodging runners or needing to step aside—help everyone have a smoother race by knowing your pace and lining up where you belong!
  • Chip Timing: Your time starts when you cross the line.
  • Start Windows: 🏃 Half: 9:00–9:05AM 🏃 10K: 9:30–9:35AM 🏃 5K: 9:45–9:50AM ‼️ Late starters must downgrade or won’t be allowed on course.

 

🛡️ On-Course Safety

  • Parking Lot Safety: The parking lot just beyond the start line is a little uneven--stay in the middle for the best conditions
  • Sidewalk Safety: When you are running along active roadways, please stay on the sidewalk.
  • Trail Etiquette: Be courteous on these shared trails—and watch out for fast-moving cyclists.
  • Running with Dogs: Short leashes only. Dog bowls at aid stations + treats from Bougie Tailz at the meal tent!
  • Bib Visibility = Safety: Keep your bib front-facing and visible at all times for timing and photos.

🚦 Directional Safety

  • ✅ Only follow instructions from volunteers wearing bright green All-Out vests.
  • 🟩 Only turn when signs tell you to—no guessing or detours.
  • 🟩 Look for:
    • Bright green signs with blue arrows
    • Bright green tape on the ground
    • Ignore all chalk markings--those are residual from another event
  • 🚫 Orange cones = wrong way. Don’t pass, hop, or detour around them.

  • Lost & found: Dropped something along the way? 🧢 Items dropped on course or around the venue will be returned to Lost & Found at Gear Check. Only gear left at Aid 1 (10K & Half Marathon) or Aid 5 (5K) is guaranteed to make it back before the event wraps up.

🎉 Athlete After-Party

  • Post-Race Plans? Solved. 🎃🍻The Kooky-Spooky Athlete After-Party is happening at Colorado Tap House! This event is family-friendly for all finishers and their families!
  • Keep that bib! Show it to get your BOGO special (details on the bib). Enjoy a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Don't miss this celebration!

  • 🏅 Half: 11:00AM (overall), 11:30AM (division)
