Is the Color Fun Run/Walk 5K a timed race?
No, the Color Fun Run/Walk is not timed and awards are not given.
Instead, participants are encouraged to slow down so they can be doused with Holi powder in several areas throughout the route and enjoy scenic, historic houses with various Victorian architecture at their own pace. The shirt with color powder, the giveaways and fun is your reward!

Is the Color powder permanent?
We provide easy instructions on how to permanently preserve your new, colorful shirt. If you don't want to preserve or have permanent color, the color powder will fade or wash out.
Can my younger child run/walk alongside me in the Color Fun Run?
Children age 5 and under are free! This is a stroller friendly race too, so yes, feel free to bring the little's.
What is the Kids K Run?
This is a 1K (.62 miles) race and geared for kids ages 10 and under who want to compete for a medal! Every participant gets an event shirt and swag bag. The entire run takes place on Railroad Street, so parents/siblings can have eyes on their child the entire time.
Top five boy and top five girl finishers get a medal. Participants must have a sibling or adult present.
How can students age 11-18 register as a team or group?
To register, first member checks the 'Join a Team' option on the registration page, creates/names their group and pays their portion of the team fee (25%.) Following team members search for the Team/group name and each register individually.
Team option is only available for ages 11-18. This event option is priced at a very reasonable cost to encourage plenty of competition.
Maximum 5 students per team. All team members must be registered and paid before race day to compete for prizes. Best four times per team determine placement for awards, so at least 4 team members must complete the course to compete for medals.
What are the race proceeds used for?
Proceeds are designated for restoration projects that we work with the city of Calvert to obtain, such as our cherished Virginia Field Park, a four city block green space in the heart of the Calvert Historical District, which is listed on The National Register, and is fully surrounded by a historic fence that requires repair and restoration along with three historic structures and historic elements throughout.
