The North Western Ohio Rails-2-Trails Association, Inc. (NORTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the acquisition, development, and operation of multi-use recreational trails converted from former railroad corridors, commonly known as "rails-to-trails." Primarily, NORTA owns and manages a significant portion of the Wabash Cannonball Trail, a 63-mile trail spanning across Henry, Fulton, Williams, and Lucas counties in Northwest Ohio. Comprised of dedicated volunteers, the organization's purpose is to promote and maintain this trail for non-motorized public use—such as hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing—by engaging in activities like cleanup days, fundraising, landscaping, and brush clearing, thereby contributing to local recreation and alternative transportation infrastructure.
