285 Turkey Trot - 2026

Donation Goal: $2,000

This year, the 285 Turkey Trot is proud to be raising funds for the "Glen Isle Gentle Souls", a sanctuary for horses, donkeys and more, located at the historic Glen Isle Resort in Bailey, CO. Glen Isle has long played a huge role here in the Park County community, and we are honored to help them fundraise for the ongoing care of their adorable animals that bring so many of their guests' joy on a daily basis.

"Glen Isle never set out to become a refuge for older horses needing specialized care. But after COVID, something unexpected happened. One by one, horses found their way here, and somehow Glen Isle became the place where they could land.

Today, Ruby, Sully, Molly, Sandy, and now Figgy all call Glen Isle home. Each has a story. Sidewinder syndrome. Navicular disease. Poor conformation. Neglect. Age. Circumstances that make finding another loving, permanent home incredibly difficult.

The cost of caring for them is significant, but they have never been seen as a burden. Through gift shop sales, Tuesday night tips, camping revenue, and a lot of sacrifice, the Vincent family has made sure these gentle souls have a safe place to live out their days with dignity, love, and protection.

Along the way, goats and miniature donkeys joined the family, each adding their own joy to Glen Isle. Their care comes with a price tag too, but anyone who has been greeted by a soft muzzle or shared a quiet moment with one of these animals knows the return on that investment can’t be measured in dollars.

The Vincents have never asked the community to carry this responsibility. Instead, they’ve cut expenses, worked harder, and trusted that kindness has a way of finding its way back.

This year has brought challenges that few could have imagined. Losing Newton in June came with heartbreaking emotions and extraordinary veterinary expenses. Now Maisey and her new baby are both receiving intensive veterinary care as well.

For the first time, we’re asking our community to come alongside Glen Isle’s animals.

If each of us gives a little, together we can make a tremendous difference. Every contribution helps provide hay, feed, veterinary care, medications, and a safe haven for animals that have nowhere else to go.

Saving Glen Isle is a labor of love. Caring for these animals is another. Both require big hearts, willing hands, and a community that believes some things are simply worth preserving.

It truly takes a village, and we hope you’ll be part of ours."
