At United Way Miami we envision a thriving and equitable community where all people have access to quality education and the opportunity to lead healthy and financially secure lives.
With more than half a million Miami-Dade households either in poverty or unable to make ends meet and afford basic necessities, demand for United Way Miami’s transformative programs keeps growing. Approximately 60% of residents are spending more than 30% of their income on housing, with another 20% of family budgets going toward transportation costs. These families are facing difficult choices every single day.
Through action and advocacy, United Way Miami places these families at the forefront, offering support and long-term solutions to help bridge the gap between wages and the rising cost of living. Last year, 242,000 individuals received direct, immediate relief with food assistance, housing, childcare, healthcare and financial support.
United Way Miami is committed to delivering the solutions that uplift these families and improve the quality of life for all by bringing together people and resources committed to building a stronger, more resilient Miami. Our goal is to keep families from falling into poverty and empower them to build stable, sustainable futures.
