Eddie Collins was born and raised in the towns of Berlin and Clinton. He attended local schools and worked at various establishments. After a brief time away, his heart brought him back home to Clinton to be closer to family and friends.
In 1993, he met and married his wife, Ellen, and subsequently settled in Sterling, where they raised their daughter, Samantha. In addition to Samantha, Eddie was the proud father of Vanessa, Chad, and Amanda, grandfather of 13 and great-grandfather of 4.
In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed running into friends - past and present. And no matter where he was, it seemed like he knew everyone, and everyone was a close friend.
Regretfully, in April 2023, he was unexpectedly diagnosed with Stage 4 Small-cell Lung Cancer. Being a strong-minded Irishman and stubborn to the core, he refused to go without a fight. And with his family by his side, fighting is just what he did! Although his battle was commendable, we lost him on October 3, 2023.
