Every year, Joey's Run benefits a local pediatric cancer family. Jada was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia with a M7 mutation on August 4, 2018. She was admitted to Shands in Gainesville to start the first of 3 rounds of chemo therapy. After the first round, they discovered nodules in her lungs which were progressively bigger and she still had residual disease. Jada started her second round of chemo therapy on September 17th and finally went into remission at the end of October. The doctors determined that a transplant was needed and they were not able to wait for a 3rd round of chemo. She received a transplant on November 14th and engrafted on November 27th. She was released on December 8th and is seen in the clinic twice a week for labs and physical therapy.
Want to get more involved and help fundraise for Joey's Wings? Create a team, recruit runners to sign up for your team and ask friends, family, and businesses for donations! There will be two awards for fundraising teams: one for the team with the most runners and one for the team that raises the most money. Click the team tab (on the left) to get started!
If you need a letter for businesses, let Kathy know by emailing her at email@example.com
Awards will be at 10:15 AM. There are three age groups, 6 – 11, 12 – 18, and 19+, each category placing top 3 males and females. There will be two awards for fundraising teams: one for the team with the most runners and one for the team that raises the most money.

Both strollers and dogs are welcome! We have made the course more stroller-friendly this year, so no worries if it rains beforehand! If you run with your dog, please make sure he/she is well behaved, stays on a leash, gets cleaned up after and doesn't trip anyone while on the course :)
