Know before you go! Pre Race Questions and Answers

Which 5K is my team running?
You can find which 5K your team is running here. You should also be receiving information from your team coaches. Please confirm this information with your team’s coaches.

Can I bring my dog?
No, please leave pets at home. This event is very crowded and for safety it is best to leave pets at home. Service dogs are allowed.

Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, but please be mindful of your space and other runners trying to pass or run alongside you.

Where is the best place to watch my child?
Click on the “Maps and Parking” dropdown for a course map. The start and finish lines are very accessible for watching the race. You are welcome to walk somewhere on the race route as well, just please stay behind any and all fencing.

What color pod is my child’s team?
All Girls on the Run program participants will meet their team in the Meet & Greet area. Site names are alphabetical and organized in color pods. A detailed map of the Meet & Greet area is coming soon!

I am planning to run with my child, do I need to register?
Yes, everyone on the race route MUST have a bib. You can register online until 11/5/25 or in person on race day.

Can siblings and other friends and family participate and run with my child?
Yes, we love when friends and family participate! They will all need to register.

I registered, where do I get my race bib?
Bib pick up opens at 8:00 AM on race day. Look for the blue bib pick up tents in Lot D.

Is registration available on race day?
Yes, you can still register on race day. Look for the race day registration tents on the south end of Lot D.

Is there water available?
There is one water stop on the route and water for participants at the finish line. Spectators are asked to bring their own water. 

Is there food available?
Yes, there are food trucks with food for purchase at the Expo Area in Lot G.

What should my child wear on race day?
Your child should wear the orange Girls on the Run shirt they were given at practice.

Where does the race start? Where is the finish line?
The race starts just west of Lot D on Mile High Circle. The finish line is just west of Lot G on Mile High Circle.


Race Day Questions and Answers

Where is my GOTR girl supposed to meet her team?
Each team has a school sign in the Meet and Greet area in Lot D. Teams are assigned pod colors to help you find their team sign. See next question for pod color assignments.

What color pod is my child’s team in?
All Girls on the Run program participants will meet their team in the Meet & Greet Area. Site names are alphabetical and organized in color pods. A detailed map of the Meet & Greet Area is coming soon!

Where do I pick up my bib?
Girls on the Run participant bibs are with their coaches. Registered runners can pick up their bibs at the blue bib pick up tents on the south side of Lot D at Empower Field. 

Do I have to pick up my child’s bib?
No, their coach will have their bib at their team sign in the Meet and Greet area.

Can I still register to run with my child?
Yes, look for the tents on the south side of Lot D labeled Race Day Registration. Race day registration opens at 8:00 AM. 

I am a community runner. What wave do I run in?
If you are not running with a Girls on the Run participant, you are free to go in any wave you like.

Are there finisher medals?
No, there are no finisher medals. Girls on the Run participants will receive a medal from their coach at their final celebration. Some teams may hold their final celebration at the 5K event.

Where can I find race results?
Community runners will not be timed. We encourage all runners to find their happy pace and believe in the mantra that the finish line is just the beginning! For some Girls on the Run participants, setting a time goal is part of this mantra. Girls on the Run participant results can be found here.

We arrived late and couldn't find my GOTR girl’s team! What now?
Don’t panic; we have you covered! Does your child need a Running Buddy, or are you planning on running with her? 

  • If you need a Running Buddy, head to the pink Girls on the Run tent in Lot D. We will match your child with a Running Buddy who will be with her along the way and meet you back at the team sign after crossing the finish line.
  • If you don’t need a Running Buddy, check your team sign for your race bibs. If you don’t find it there, please come to the blue Race Day Registration tent.

Where are the bathrooms?
The port-a-lets are located in Lot D on the north end. Site Map

Where can I watch my child run? Where is the best place to see my child on the race route?
The start and finish lines are very accessible to watch. You are welcome to walk somewhere on the race route as well, just please stay behind any and all fencing. Click for a Map of the Course.

The race starts just west of Lot D on Mile High Circle. The finish line is just west of Lot G on Mile High Circle.

Where do I meet my child after the race?
The best place to reunite with your child is back at your team sign.

What can I do at the Expo?
There are lots of fun vendors and activities to visit at the Expo! 

Can my child get one of the hats?
No, Girls on the Run participants receive a program t-shirt. The hats are for registered runners.
