Description

This is a FREE 8 week training program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to learn to run or walk for exercise.

Clinics will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM behind the Cabot Administration Office near the tennis courts. You can park at any of the nearby parking lots but please do not park in the tennis court parking lot as that is where we meet and warmup. 602 N Lincoln St in Cabot. 
The first clinic session will be Monday, March 25th with an informational meeting. Last clinic session will be Thursday, May 16th.  

Training groups are as follows, please register for the group that best fits your needs. We have a group for all paces:
Walker Beginner  - Your goal is to train to walk up to 3.1 miles walking a casual pace.
Walker Intermediate - The duration of the faster walking intervals will increase weekly, improving your pace. Your training time will increase to 40 minutes in the last few weeks of the clinic.
Walker Advanced - You can currently walk at a 15:30 pace or faster. You are willing to work on form with exercises to improve speed. The end goal is to learn race-walking technique and work up to a 14 minute pace. 
Beginning Runner Group A  - For those who currently don't run - Starts with 15 seconds running - 3 minute walking intervals.Your goal is to train to run/walk up to 3.1 miles. 
Beginner Runner Group B - For those running minimally - Starts with 1 minute running - 4 minute walking intervals and want to complete a 5K.                      
Intermediate Runner - Your goal is to train to run consistently up to 3.1 miles. You currently run at least 4 minutes before taking a brief walk break, and you are able to do these intervals for up to 30 minutes total.
Advanced Runner - Currently can run for 30 minutes non-stop. Your goal is to increase running endurance and run at a faster pace. Group will learn running skills to improve your running.

Ages 10-14 may participate in clinic when accompanied by a parent where the parent stays with the child at all times in the same group.
Ages 15-17 may participate in a separate group than their parent with their parent still being present at clinic. 
No strollers, wagons, "wheels" of any kind will be allowed.
