The Inferno Challenge Englewood is coming to Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park in Charlotte County on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 — and we’re daring you to take on the sun, the sweat, and the Florida fire!
The 5K is open to runners and walkers of all levels, while the 10K and 30K are designed for endurance athletes and heat-hardened competitors. This race is built to push limits with gritty summer miles through Florida’s sun-soaked terrain. This is your chance to prove you can go the distance — and handle the heat.
Race Day Details:
Location: Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park – Charlotte County, FL
Start Time: 7:30 AM
Distances: 5K, 10K, or 30K
Terrain: Flat and fast — but the real challenge is the heat and the sun!
Cut-Off Time: 12:30 PM (All races) – No Exceptions

Description
Ready to test your navigation skills, endurance, and strategy?
The Inferno Adventure Challenge is a 3-hour orienteering/Adventure race style event held in conjunction with the Inferno race weekend in Englewood, Florida. Teams of 1-4 racers will use pre-plotted maps to locate checkpoints throughout Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park and surrounding trail systems.
There is no marked course and no required route. Teams will decide which checkpoints to pursue and in what order, making every race strategy unique. Checkpoints will be placed using natural and man-made features such as trail intersections, pavilions, bridges, wooded areas, and open fields.
Whether you're an experienced adventure racer or trying the sport for the first time, this event is designed to be fun, challenging, and beginner-friendly. Experienced adventure racers will be on-site to answer questions and help newcomers get started.
