Welcome to the sixth annual Jogging For Jakey! Every year in memory of Jacob Smotherman, we are able to donate to different programs which support children and young adults who experience not only physical disabilities, but cognitive disabilities as well. This year all of the proceeds of the race will be donated to Pathway school in Howell which is part of the Livingston Educational Service Agency. Pathway school serves individuals in the community who have complex disabilities from birth to age 26, by using specialized and individualized plans to support a positive learning environment. Thank you for racing for a good cause, we look forward to seeing you there! Below is an excerpt from Pathway school:

Pathway School is part of Livingston Educational Service Agency which serves students in Livingston County ages 3 - 26 who have disabilities. Along with academics, we work on self-help skills and daily living skills so that our students become as independent as possible. Our students require even more specialized instruction than students in a local school district due to their complex needs. We have a large team of teachers, assistants, speech and occupational therapists, physical therapists, social workers and nurses who work together to meet the needs of all of our students. It truly takes a village!

Pre Registration starts at 08:30 AM where you can pick up your T-shirts and sign in.

Course/Registration Information

The race will start at Bennett Park off of Merrill road (On the other west side of the street across form the official Bennett Park entrance) we will have signs on the road. Runners will start behind the playground of Bennett Park on the paved path of Lakeland Trails until Pettys and then loop back to Bennett Park. This is the same route as the previous years. This event is not chip timed.

A T-shirt (guaranteed to all who register by August 15th, 2025). There will be many post-race snacks, and a raffle drawing for all participants which contain gift cards and gift baskets from local businesses.

First overall Male and Female finisher will receive first choice from the prize table.
