Description
Welcome to the Liberty Sprint 5K kicking off Edmond's LibertyFest, the largest 4th of July celebration in Oklahoma!
Join us at Mitch Park on Saturday July 5th at 8:00 am for a 5K Run/Walk or a 1 Mile Fun Run!
The event is great for the whole family from strollers to grandparents, and dog friendly for well-socialized pups on a leash. We do ask that any participants with dogs be prepared with a "pick up" bag to attend to any unscheduled potty breaks on the course. We want to leave the park spotless, so we need everyone to do their part!
For additional fun, participate in our costume contest! We'll have a special prize for the most amazing get up.
The event will support the Travis Manion Foundation, empowering veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations.
Travis Manion Foundation
Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) empowers veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop character in future generations. In 2007, 1st Lt Travis Manion (USMC) was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Today, Travis' legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, "If Not Me, Then Who..." Guided by this mantra, veterans and survivors continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives. Packet Pick Up
Packet pick up will be at the Red Coyote Edmond Store Location at 1300 W Covell Rd
Thursday, July 3rd from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm
We will also have pick up available on site at the race starting at 7:00 am but WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT EVRYONE PICK UP IN ADVANCE to avoid lines and delays at the event.
Parking On Race Day
Access to Mitch Park from Santa Fe Ave. will be closed for the event.
All participants should enter the park from Covell on Marylin Williams Drive. Mitch Park will be very busy Saturday with baseball tournaments at the fields and a swim meet at the YMCA in addition to our race. Please allow extra time for traffic and parking for timely arrival and a smoother experience
The Liberty Fest 5K race course is different this year to accommodate the baseball leagues. Our race area will be on Kitefest Lane on the west side of the park. You can refer to the course map by CLICKING HERE to see the location. Best options for closest parking will be to proceed all the way down Marilynn Williams Drive and take a left on Kitefest Lane. Please do not park in the YMCA west lot reserved for their staff. Continue to the west and you can park on the grass areas along the road.
We hope to be back to the normal course next year and appreciate your patience and flexibility!
About The Course
If you have done a race at Mitch Park before, THIS IS A DIFFERENT COURSE.
Due to the baseball league traffic during the Hafer Park renovations, we are unable to use the standard 5K course we normally use. This year's event will start and finish on Kitefest Drive on the west side of the park.
It's important to note that access to the park from Santa Fe will be closed for the event so all participants should enter from Covell on Marylin Williams drive and proceed to the park to Kitefest to access the race parking.

Timing, Results, & Photos
Red Coyote uses MyLaps Bib Tag timing and live online results. Participants can also enable finish time text and email notifications for themselves, friends, and family. All runners will also be able to view, download, print, and share a custom finisher certificate with your time from your online results. We are also pleased to partner with Okie Pics to offer event photos loaded to your results from the race. You can download, print, and share all these great assets and we invite you to #LiberyFest in your social posts to let everyone know what a great time you had!
Virtual Run Option
Can't be with us on race day but still want to be part of the fun? The Virtual Race option might be a great fit for you!
Our Virtual Race Option is a little different from some other events. This option is often used for late date conflicts or unexpected illness. Maybe you just hate crowds or have a busy schedule. The Virtual Run allows you to get a bib, shirt, and finisher medal then run the 3.1 miles on your own convenience from race day through the following week. You can even post your time online by visiting our Result Page and clicking the "Submit Virtual Results" button at the top pf the page from race day through the following week.
Important - we don't mail packets so you still have to make arrangements to pick up before or at the race during the designated packet pick up hours. You can certainly have a friend or family member pick up for you if you're unavailable or out of town. We'll get you a finisher medal when you pick up. Any unclaimed shirts and bib numbers and medals will be opened up to race day participants so make sure to get your gear! Post your finish time as described above to get a free finisher certificate in your online results. Most of all, have a great run!

Race insurance is offered by a third party and Red Coyote Running & Fitness has no oversight or ability to manage or intervene with claims.
