Description
The Pagoda Pacers present the 31st running of the Oley Valley Country Classic 10 mile and 6k through Oley Pennsylvania Farm country ---Managed by one of PAs largest running clubs, this Pagoda Pacer event takes you over the hills and through a mostly flat road course through Oley PA during peak leaf changing season. A great tune up event for that upcoming Full or Half Marathon. This year's OVCC Race begins and ends in front of the Oley Valley High School.
**Proceeds from all events will benefit the Oley Valley High School Athletics Boosters and support the Pagoda Pacer student scholarship fund.
This year's 10 mile event is also RRCA Eastern Regional Championship---extra awards for your efforts! Professional race timing provided by Pretzel City Sports. Plenty of off street parking and we will have all indoor facilities for registration and post-race commiserating. Two aid stations on the 10 Mile course (one on the 6K). Lite post-race fare and hydration provided. Bring extra $$$ Munchiez Food Truck.. (@munchiezpa) will be on site cooking up a variety of breakfast and lunch options. Long sleeve shirt with unique design included in race reg. The 10 Mile event is $40 if you register before midnight October 17; after that its $45 with no shirt size guarantee. The 6K event is $35/$40. Online registration closes midnight October 31st. There will be day of Registration available and shirts while they last (we will have some extras)! In honor of our dear friend whom we lost this year: Barry Goodhart
Barry Goodhart organized this race in 1994 with the intention of putting on a “classy” long distance race that provided a beautiful backdrop for race through Oley during the Fall season. The Oley Classic is also supposed to be about Classic swag; something you would wear after the race and help promote it without knowing it. In 1998 the 5K was added to the event and celebrated its 30th anniversary last year. A dedicated Pagoda Pacer, Barry’s enthusiasm for this event and the athletic community deserves to be remembered forever. In his honor we will run one extra K for Barry. This year there will be a 10 Mile race and a 6K–one more for Barry. Thank you for your commitment to this race and thank you for continuing its success.
