Description
The Dinosaur Run consists of alternating 5k loops with options including 5K, 10K, 2 Hour, 4 Hour, 6 Hour, and 24 Hour options.
5K: One 5K loop
10K: One of each 5K loops
2 Hour: How many alternating 5K loops can you do before time runs out?
4 Hour: How many alternating 5K loops can you do before time runs out?
6 Hour: How many alternating 5k loops can you do before time runs out?
24 Hour: How many alternating 5k loops can you do before time runs out?
The race takes place at Twin Buttes in San Angelo TX. If you are doing a distance with alternating loops, you must alternate correctly in order to be eligible for an age group award (for example, if you do the 6 hour and you do the same loop twice in a row, you will not be eligible for an age group award).

This course is two 5k loops. If you are doing the 10k or above, you will alternate loops each time.

Starting at the end of FM2288, take a right and drive approximately 3.3 miles to Twin Buttes Marina Road (on the left). Once you turn onto Twin Buttes Marina Road, the parking lot is about 1 mile on the left. Follow the SARL signs on race day!
Timed Races
For timed races only (2 Hour, 4 Hour, 6 Hour, and 24 Hour options):
What is a timed race?
The main idea of a timed race is.... Who can complete the most loops before time is up?! The winner of this race is the person that completes the highest number of 5K loops before the time limit is up. All loops must be alternating.
What is the policy on ties?
In the case of a tie in the timed races, the tie breaker is who completes their final lap first.
What if the timer runs out while I'm on the course?Only laps completed within the time limit count. If you are on the course when the time runs out, that lap will not count toward your total.
