The Loch Lothian Adventure Scramble is a unique opportunity to run a race the way you want to run it. The concept is simple. There is a common start point from which all runners will begin. There will be 10 clearly marked "way points" spread out over approximately 3 miles. Each runner must visit every "way point" and pick up a token that is unique to each "way point" and return to the start point. How you decide to navigate the course is up to you. The only stipulation is that you must visit each way point and return with a unique token from all 10 points. You could head north and then west. Or you could go east and then south. Your course will be completely up to each individual runner and will be based on the navigational strategy that you choose. Along the way you will encounter wooded trails, foot bridges, lakeside views, long downhill sections and uphill climbs. You will pass the historic Midlothian Mines ruins and run on paved trails, crusher run trails, single track trails through the woods, sidewalks and other stimulating topography. How you choose to run the course will be completely up to you. The race will be chip timed and a lot of fun for all. There will be several award categories and an official Adventure Scramble race shirt for all who have registered by July 7. This will be a great approximate 5K with the added dimension that the course is is up to you. We look forward to seeing you at the start line on July 17th.
