What is Global Free Them 5k?
1 in every 130 girls or women is a slave today. Global Free Them 5k is your chance to help change that number to “0”. Every single day children from the most vulnerable communities of the world are trafficked. They are enslaved in forced labor, child marriage, and sexual slavery.
When you register to run or walk on July 27 in the Global (virtual) Free Them 5k you will join people from all over the world to prevent this modern-day slavery.
The money you fundraise will be used to train communities in the dangers of trafficking, teach children their rights and give them safe after-school care, and provide youth with skills that allow them to earn a living wage close to home.
How You'll Help
Every dollar you raise will be used for prevention programs in some of the most vulnerable and isolated communities of the world where traffickers prey on children and youth living in extreme poverty. Your support will bring awareness of the lies that traffickers use to lure victims, the dangers of illegal emigration, the rights of children, the dangers of child marriage, and practical ways to keep children and youth safe.
Where You'll Help
You will protect children, youth, and women in corridors of trafficking—the poorest, most vulnerable and overlooked villages in Asia that are located near porous borders where traffickers can easily cross with victims. When you give, members of communities will be empowered with knowledge to prevent traffickers and connected to authorities for help should a child or youth be trafficked.
