Deferral Info
Although we look forward to seeing you at our events, we understand certain things may come up that prevent you from attending. Please make note of our deferral and refund policies:

*Deferred registrations must re-register during the early registration window. If the event fills when general public registration opens, prior to a deferred athlete registering, the athlete forfeits their deferred slot.
*Reminder- Racers must complete each event within the allotted cut off time in order to move on and be eligible for the next. If a racer does not meet the required finish time, he or she will not be allowed to continue in the Lead Challenge competition. However, the racer may continue racing as an individual by notifying Athlete Services via email. Each event must be attempted, failing to start any of the events will disqualify the athlete from all remaining events in the series. Athletes are not allowed to defer individual events from the Lead Challenge, no exceptions. The Leadville Race Series does not allow refunds, transfers or deferment in the midst of the Lead Challenge competition.
How do I defer my Leadman/ Leadwoman registration?
The defer option can be found by logging on to RunSignUp, navigating to your Profile > Upcoming Events > Manage Registration > Defer Registration. Check out more information and how to defer here.
Deferred Athletes from 2021 Lead Challenge
Early Registration for athletes that deferred their 2021 registration through their athlete profile will open November 1st, 2021.
Athletes will receive an email from the Leadville Race Series through Run Signup as well as our Life Time mass communications team (just incase athlete unsubscribed from one source or another). Emails will include: Instructions, unique deferral coupon to be used at checkout, and an individual registration link.
If registration fills before a deferral is redeemed, the deferral will not be eligible to be used for future events and cannot be transferred to another event.
What if you, the Leadville Race Series, has to cancel the event?
***NOTE*** This policy is only relevant if the Leadville Race Series has to cancel the event!
If we have to cancel due to a series of reasons, including pandemic, natural disaster, etc. we will allow athletes to choose one of the two following options.
Athlete Option 1: Deferral
Complimentary, guaranteed entry into the following year’s event
Athlete Option 2: Refund
*The fee refunded will be determined by how many days out from the event there are.
90+ days out – 70% refund
60-89 days out – 50% refund
30-59 days out – 40% refund
**Important note if the Leadville Race Series HAS to cancel the event:
There are NO refunds on service fees, merchandise or donations. No refunds over 365 day since registering. Deferrals are only good for the following year, in the same event.
