The Finnish Line 5k Fun Run & Walk

Calling all runners, walkers, exercisers, outdoor enthusiasts, and supporters of Kaleva Heritage Days! Kick off Kaleva Heritage Days celebrating the 125th Anniversary of Kaleva at The Finnish Line 5k Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 8:30am. Register by June 19 to be guaranteed a unique Finnish Line 5K T-Shirt, sponsored by the Wiitala Family.  Registration Fee increases June 20th. The route will start at the Maple Grove Township Community Center located at 9208 Kauko St, Kaleva, MI 49645. This is the former elementary school building. Parking is available in the adjacent parking lot. The route will be an Out and Back, starting at the Community Center, moving north out of town on Industrial Drive to Jouppi Road, and then returning back the same route. Arrows will be sprayed on the road at intersections and most corners will be manned by human arrows. A water station will be located at the Maple Grove Township Fire Station and at the halfway point at Jouppi Road. This is a fun run/ walk, so no official time will be kept. A clock will be displayed at the Start/ Finish line.  Special prizes will be awarded to first finishers in each age bracket. Prizes will be given as finishers cross. Light refreshments provided at the finish. There is no post-race ceremony, as we want everyone to be able to head off to enjoy the other festivities for Kaleva's 125th Anniversary celebration with Kaleva Heritage Days!
