Course Marshals

Aid Station Medium Priority

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

At least 4 more volunteers needed.

Plan to meet at the welcome tent at Roosevelt High at 6:30 AM to receive your course assignment. More details to come.

Course Marshals High Priority

You must be 18-85 years old to volunteer for this task.

At least 20 more volunteers needed.

Details

Your job is to cheer on the runners!

*DETAILS: Course marshals are stationed at key locations along the course to:
---warn runners of hazards
---direct runners along the course
---monitor for course and participant safety
---ensure fair play, motivate the athletes
---manage non-race traffic at points where race course crosses another route

At the end of their assignment, course marshals are asked to assist with removing course marking materials and transport them to the start/finish line.

Marshals *shall not leave their post* until instructed to do so by lead course marshal or race director or relieved by another course marshal.

*WHAT YOU GET: Course marshals will be provided instructions, a course map, and any special equipment required for their assigned position (safety vest, etc.).

*WHAT TO BRING: Volunteers should bring water, a pen and paper, bug spray/sunscreen, a folding chair, and an enthusiastic and polite attitude.
