Registration & Packet Pickup: Friday 5/16

Details

Packet pickup will take place at the L.L.Bean Bear Lot (in front of Camp L.L.Bean, behind Discovery Stage), located at 18 Morse St, Freeport, ME 04032. Volunteers will welcome runners, distribute registration packets, answer participant questions, and help organize and store any unclaimed packets at the old Wilsons Leather location off Mill Street for race day. Volunteer shift time is 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Friday Set-up barricades, tables High Priority

Details

Assist with event setup the afternoon before the race. Responsibilities include setting up tables, tents, barriers, signage, and moving equipment into race storage near 23 Depot for the next day’s events. Volunteers should be comfortable lifting and moving items up to 40 lbs. If you have a dolly or wagon available, feel free to bring it along.

Registration High Priority

We need four volunteers to assist with race-day registration:

Two volunteers to distribute pre-packaged race gear
Two or more volunteers to assist with new registrations
Pre-registration opens at 8:30 AM in the parking lot, and all volunteers should be ready by 8:00 AM to ensure a smooth check-in process and enough time to get to their assigned spots.

Water Stops

Responsibilities include handing out water to runners and cleaning up afterward. Setup begins at 9:00 AM, breakdown at race end (usually before 11AM)

Kids Fun Run- Finish

Volunteers will help assist at the finish line of the Kids’ Fun Run. Volunteers will help distribute prizes, give high-fives, and cheer on the kids.

Assist with event breakdown following the race. Course Marshals High Priority

Help guide runners along the route! We need 1–2 volunteers per intersection to direct participants safely and keep them on course. Course Marshals will wear safety vests and will not be directing or stopping traffic under any circumstances.
