Thursday Packet Pickup - 2 shifts High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

April 1, 2027

Details

Help provide a smooth check-in experience for runners before race day.

Responsibilities:

Check in pre-registered participants using a tablet.
Distribute race packets, including bibs and participant shirts.
Organize and restock shirts and race materials throughout packet pickup.
Assist with assembling race packets before participants arrive.
Help participants with race-day registration and answer basic event questions.

Requirements:

Comfortable using a tablet or iPad.
Friendly and organized.
Able to stand for extended periods and assist participants in a fast-paced environment.

Location

PTI Airport, 1000 A Ted Johnson Parkway, Greensboro, NC 27409.
Please report to the Arrival Terminal at Entrance Door 4 on the Departure level.
Free parking is available for all volunteers.

Parking High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

Help direct vehicles and assist participants as they arrive for Run on the Runway. Parking volunteers will work alongside PTAA Parking staff to ensure traffic flows safely and efficiently before and after the race.

Responsibilities:
• Direct vehicles to available parking areas
• Assist with traffic flow entering and exiting the lot
• Help keep parking rows organized
• Provide basic directions to participants
• Maintain safe pedestrian crossings

Day of Event:
Volunteers will report directly to the Parking Manager for assignment and instructions.

Requirements:
• Must be comfortable standing outdoors
• Must be able to communicate clearly with drivers and participants
• Safety vest provided

Shift Time:
Approximately 5:30 AM – 9:00 AM

Water Tables High Priority

Details

Hand out water to Run participants at one of the 2 water stops on the course

Location

Arrive at the parking lot, take the shuttle to the event site, and check in at the Volunteer Tent for your assignment.

Turn Assist Medium Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Be the energy on the course! Cheer on runners, direct them at the 5K and 10K turn points, and help keep everyone moving in the right direction.

Registration Day Of Race High Priority

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

Help welcome participants by assisting with walk-up registration in the parking lot before the race.

Responsibilities:

Assist participants with race-day registration using a tablet.
Answer basic registration questions and help participants select the correct event.
Direct participants to parking, packet pickup, and shuttle buses after they register.
Help keep the registration area organized and running smoothly.

Requirements:

Comfortable using a tablet or iPad.
Friendly, organized, and comfortable assisting the public.

Standby Volunteers for Assignment - Day of Event Medium Priority

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Volunteers who can be flexible and assigned to needed tasks on the day of the Run
