Communicate issues (injuries, route problems) to event command via radio or phone.

RUCK - Adaptive Athlete Support Volunteers (Must Be Able to Hike Minimum of 4 Miles)

At least 2 more volunteers needed.

Details

Volunteers will be assigned to an adaptive athlete who needs support throughout the hike;
Must be in good physical shape and able to hike distances of at least 4 miles on uneven terrain;
Assist hikers carrying weighted packs with proper fit and safety;
Encourage participants along the trail and provide guidance on challenging sections;
Monitor participants for fatigue, hydration, or any safety concerns, and report issues to event staff;
Help participants as needed at rest stops or water stations.

Details

Must bring a mountain bike and be adept and comfortable riding on uneven, rocky, or hilly trails;
Ride alongside handcyclists throughout the course to provide assistance and encouragement;
Push handcyclists on steep or difficult sections as needed;
Monitor safety and communicate any issues immediately to course marshals or event staff;
Support handcyclists to ensure they complete the course safely and confidently.
