August 3rd, 2025 marks the 20-year observance of Dresden native Marine Sgt. and Virginia Beach Police Officer Brad Harpers Sacrifice for his country. In remembrance of that sacrifice Brad’s hometown will be honoring him August 9th, 2025, with the Annual Harper Classic Memorial Run and new for this year a Community Block Party.
From the very beginning the Annual Harper Classic Memorial Run has been about Honoring Sgt. Harpers Sacrifice, keeping his name alive, and living the way he lived his life, through “A Life of Service”, by donating back to those communities and organizations that would be important to him. As we honor his sacrifice during this 20-year Anniversary we wanted this year’s event to also be about Family and Community. This year we welcome back not only the runners and walkers who have helped make this event a success but also invite the public while we continue to honor Sgt. Brad Harpers sacrifice.
Community Block Party
The Dresden American Legion Post 399 and Muskingum Multisports are teaming up to host a Community Block party. Join us after the Race for a Community Block Party with plenty of food, drink, live music and fun for the whole family.

The American Leagion will be hosting a Indoor/Outdoor Beer Garden. (Wrist band required)
There will be Corn Hole Tounment and the Poker Table will also be set up
