About this Race Series

The Valdez Race Series (VRS) returns for the 2026 season with four races celebrating running in and around Valdez. Participants can choose from a variety of distances ranging from 5K to 12K road races along with two fixed-distance trail events. Runners earn points at each race based on their finishing position, with standings tracked throughout the season. Series champions will be crowned at the final event, with awards for the top three overall finishers in the Male, Female, and Non-Binary divisions. Whether you're chasing points or just getting out to run, the Valdez Race Series offers a fun and competitive way to stay active all season long.

1st place - 10 pts

2nd place - 9 pts

3rd place - 8 pts

4th place - 7 pts

5 place - 6 pts

6th place - 5 pts

7th place - 4 pts

8th place - 3 pts

9th place - 2 pts

10th place or any finisher - 1 pt

The following multipliers will be in place for Richardson Highway and Dayville races. 5K multiplier of 1, 10K multiplier of 1.15, and 12K multiplier of 1.2. Example of how this would play out:

1st place in the 5K - 10 pts

1st place in the 10K - 10 * 1.15 =11.5

1st place in the 12K - 10 * 1.2 = 12

Mineral Creek and Pack Trail will have no multipliers due to set distance for all runners.
