Clearwater Hike for the Hudson

Sign up to explore the beautiful Hudson Valley and support Clearwater

Description

This event is a month-long challenge. Anyone, anywhere, can participate, spread the word, and help raise critical funding for Clearwater's work to protect and preserve the Hudson River. Walk or Hike and raise money to support Hudson River Sloop Clearwater's education and environmental programs.  For over 50 years Clearwater has advocated, educated, outreached, communicated, celebrated, and supported the Hudson and there is still a job to be done!
Sign up to participate, then become a Fundraiser in order to accept donations for your hiking.
Join a team or participate on your own. Gather support of friends and family, explore your local environment, raise funds and have fun.
Don't live in the Hudson Valley? Find a local spot to enjoy.

Choose a Goal

We suggest participants set a goal to hike, walk, run, or simply stroll for 153 minutes.

Why 153 minutes?  Because the Hudson Estuary flows 153 miles both ways, from the Troy Dam to the Battery in NYC.

Want a greater challenge? Choose 315 minutes. It's 315 miles from the river's source at Lake Tear of the Clouds on Mt. Marcy to the Battery in NYC.

Want to choose your own goal? Pick a number that has personal meaning. Choose another river related number, 78 major tributaries, 173 native fish species, etc., it's up to you.

How to Join

To participate, register as an individual or join a team and pay the $15.30 entry fee + processing charge. Commit to hike, walk, run, or simply stroll, a combined 153 minutes, or time of your choice.
We encourage each individual raise additional funds. You may accept the suggested amounts of $153 for an individual or $1530 for a 10 person team, or choose your own goals. If you commit to meeting the goal your entry fee will count toward your total. We encourage everyone to become a fundraiser and accept additional donations from friends and supporters.

Become a Fundraiser

As you register, we hope that you will become a Fundraiser.   Create a customized page to build excitement for your activities and enable donations from friends and family. Share your progress and experiences on social media,  encouraging your followers to support you.
