Can you participate in the Junior Olympics if you live in La Jolla but attend school elsewhere?
Unfortunately no. At this time, only registered students at the following schools aged 5-12 (K-5) can participate in the Junior Olympics:
• All Hallows Academy
• Bird Rock Elementary School
• The Children’s School
• The Evans School
• The Gillispie School
• La Jolla Elementary School
• The French American School
• Stella Maris Academy
• Torrey Pines Elementary School
There is a Registration Password. What is the password and why is it required?
Junior Olympics is only available for students who attend a La Jolla neighborhood school, and a private password is given to those schools to confirm eligibility. Please reach out to your school for the password, as they would have sent the password as part of the overall JO communication to school parents.
My child is 8 years old at the time of registration but will be 9 by the time the Junior Olympics is held. What is the correct age category for my child?
You’re selecting the age category based on the age of your child on the day of Junior Olympics (April 27th). RunSignup should prevent you from signing up for the 7/8 year old categories. Please reach out if the system incorrectly places your child in the wrong age group.
I only signed up my child for two events, but I need to add a third event.
Click on your child’s profile and simply add the one additional event you’d like to include in the registration. Please do not sign up again for the other two events. Your profile recognizes all previous additions to your child’s profile (it won’t overwrite them with a registration addition).
My child wants to change events, but I can’t change them.
Updates to events are made by the administrators. Please email juniorolympicsljkiwanis@gmail.com to request any changes. The only thing that the administrators cannot do is ADD an event.
My child needs a school shirt.
While we collect the t-shirt size information at the time of registration, we pass this information to each school, as they manage the design, order and distribution of school t-shirts. The Foundation is NOT responsible for any school shirts so please reach out to your school or school foundation. Your school typically has a cutoff date to order shirts so please be sure to register for Junior Olympics early enough to ensure enough shirts are ordered by the school.
I am late to registration. How late can I register?
We do not believe in turning away anyone who is eligible to participate. However, please consider the fact that late registration means your child may not get a school shirt, and you will need to come early to registration to confirm your child’s bib has the correct information for each event. Late registration will close at 8:15am on the morning of the event.
