St Jude Children's Hospital

Why Support St Jude Children's Research Hospital?

Because of you, St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Families are free to focus on their child

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Discover how your contributions make this possible.

We won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.

Our founder believed that "no child should die in the dawn of life," and we’ve spent more than half a century finding cures and saving children.Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. Help us go even further in conquering childhood cancer.

Every donation counts

Because the majority of St. Jude funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most — saving kids regardless of their financial situation. Approximately 75% of the budgeted costs of St. Jude are covered by public contributions.

Saving children everywhere

St. Jude freely shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world. Find out more about our global impact.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can participants go around a Color Station? Yes... but we are not sure why you would want to. The amount of color you are exposed to is up to you. If twice around is too much for you please feel free to join the finishers at the start/finish line and cheer everyone on til the event concludes.

Can a stroller be used on the Color Run course? We would like to but given strollers come in all shapes and sizes and the course is "cross country like"... includes grass, gravel and some areas of uneven terrain we are erroring on the side of caution and unable to accommodate any strollers at the event... that is outside of those that want to spectate!

Is the Color Run timed? This year's event is not timed. It has been measured to 5K by a USATF Course measurer but not certified. Timing the event will be discussed in the context of the 2019 event based on 2018 participant comments. The main reason for not scoring the color run is to ensure the course flows without issue. If the course is set and no changes are required after this year's event confidence is high that the event will be timed next year. That said, please come out and let us know what you think of the course! We think its a keeper!

Do I need to wear anything special for the color run? Old clothes, not your Sunday best is suggested. The temperature in late September, early October is generally in the high 50s. We suggest dressing for the temperature of the day covering up as much as possible. We also would recommend wearing some form of protective eyewear. Those that frequent color runs know that the color powder, although harmless can make its way to your face and potentially your eyes. Like a boy or girls scout "be prepared" to cover up when at a color station. The color throws will be in full effect and your safety is of the utmost importance first and foremost. Knowing that you are informed, be safe and by all means have fun!

Can I bring my pet? We love our furry friends but unfortunately for the safety and well-being of your families and the animals, especially those with small children the Wayne Color Run is a pet free zone.
