Take a look at the Course Map to orient yourself with where you'll be starting, traveling through and ending. Most teams will opt for lodging in Fort Collins the night before the race if you're not local to the area. Some teams will also book lodging mid-race, but most will utilize the "camping" locations we have available, sleeping in vans or tents where allowed. While there are several hours that "inactive" vans have to rest, the time really goes fast and traveling to a hotel mid-race might add more logistics and planning than you'd like.
Finally, we encourage you to stay the night in Steamboat Springs after you've finished if timing allows. It's a beautiful town, and you'll appreciate a good nights rest without getting back in vans after you've finished!
There are plenty of hotels in Fort Collins and along the I -25 corridor, as well as VRBO options in town. If arriving Wednesday or Thursday, staying near Old Town is always fun and is where you'll find the best restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. We'll upload a visitor guide soon!
Book this lodging ASAP as Steamboat is a popular town this time of year with several events going on. Most lodging is refundable, so hop on it now knowing you can make changes if needed! Steamboat offers hotels, VRBO's as well as camping and a great KOA with a pool and cabins. If we're able to finish at the Gondola this year, an idea place to stay would be somewhere near the Steamboat Ski Resort. Getting around steamboat is easy though with their public transportation bus that runs the length of the town.
