CDR SuperHero 5K Race FAQ

What does my registration include?
Everyone is guaranteed a finisher’s medal. Children registered by August 5 will receive a T-shirt. Registration also includes chip timing (if selected), a Super Swag Bag, food, drinks and fun & games for the entire family.

Can I register the day of the race?
Yes, day of registration opens at 7:00 AM and closes at 8:00 AM.  The cost is $40 for the 5K and $20 for the Fun Run.

What is the timeline for the event?
     7:00 AM – Check-in/Day of registration begins
     7:45 AM – Super Duper Trike Trek begins
     8:00 AM – 1 Mile Fun Run begins
     8:30 AM – 5K Race begins 
     10:00 AM – Awards Ceremony
     12:00 PM – Event Concludes

Is this race sanctioned and certified?
Yes, this is a Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix event and the course is certified.

Where do we park?
Parking is in the Vineyards of Jockey’s Neck open fields. As you enter the neighborhood you will be directed to parking by our volunteers. Please ONLY park in the designated areas. A shuttle is available to take you to the race site. Handicap parking is available at the race site.

Are bikes/scooters allowed?
Please leave bikes, scooters, wheelies, roller skates etc. at home as they will not be allowed on the course.

Are strollers and wheelchairs allowed?
YES! We encourage athletes of all ages and ability to participate in this event. 

Is this event pet-friendly?
While we love our four-legged friends, pets are not allowed at the race.

 

Will there be food?
YES! There will be fun snacks, watermelon, water, and bananas for everyone.

 

What awards will be presented?
1st, 2nd and 3rd place will be awarded in the 5K to the top three overall for men and women and in 16 age categories. In addition, there will awards for the top fundraising teams and best costumes.

Are costumes allowed?
Of course! Bring out your best SuperHero. Costumes add to the festivities and there will be prizes.

What if it rains?
We monitor the weather very closely and are hope for clear skies. The event will happen rain or shine. We may delay the event for a few hours in hopes the weather will improve.  We only cancel the race in the event of a severe weather threat that includes lightening and high winds. Updates will be posted to our Facebook page, Twitter and race website.

Is there a bag check?
Yes. You may check your belongings at the bag check tent at the entrance to the race site. Child Development Resources, including staff and volunteers, is not responsible for any items deposited in the bag check tent.

Do you offer refunds?
No. Your registration is non-refundable and non-transferable.

How do I become a volunteer?
You can sign up to volunteer right here on our website. Go the race homepage and click the Volunteer tab to see what tasks are available.
